On August 9, 2017, the subject of "Research on Testing Methods and Evaluation System of Grouting Quality of Prestressed Tunnels of Highway Bridges" held an expert acceptance meeting in Nanjing, Jiangsu. This project was jointly developed and researched by the Engineering Quality Supervision Bureau of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation, Jiangsu Dongjiao Engineering Design Consulting Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Shengtuo Testing Technology Co., Ltd. There were more than 20 participants in the project acceptance meeting. The expert group consisted of 8 experts including Bai Bingdong from the Science and Technology Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation, Ding Zhiqun from the Quality Supervision Bureau of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation, and Lin Mei from Nanjing Highway Research Institute. Zhang Yuanjun, deputy manager of the testing department of our company, and Song Jianqiang, the sales manager, attended the meeting and made a technical report to the expert group. At the same time, Ding Feng, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Communications, also came to guide the work.
At the meeting, experts discussed and accepted the project work reports, research reports and other project results one by one, and proposed the advancement and reliability of the quality testing method for the prestressed tunnel grouting of highway bridges. The successful acceptance of this project has laid a solid foundation for the preparation of the technical specifications for the quality inspection of the prestressed tunnels of highway bridges in Jiangsu Province.
After the meeting, the cooperation units of this project will further refine the technical indicators, enrich the test data, and compile local regulations. The purpose of prestressed channel grouting is mainly two. One is to exclude water and air in the channel to prevent the prestressed steel strand from being corroded and ensure the durability of the component. Overall, it improves the stress distribution and the bearing capacity of the component. If the grouting is not dense, the entry of water and air makes the steel strand material in a highly tensioned state prone to corrosion, resulting in a reduction in effective prestress. In severe cases, the steel strand will break, which will greatly affect the durability and safety of the bridge. Therefore, the compilation of this local code can fill in the blank of the quality inspection of the prestressed tunnel grouting of highway bridges in Jiangsu Province, reduce the maintenance costs, and protect the lives and property of the people.
